Revolutionary Struggle suspect gives himself up

A 36-year-old suspected member of the Revolutionary Struggle terrorist group whom police have been seeking since April 2010 handed himself over to the authorities on Friday, police in Athens said.

Costas Katsenos is alleged to have met with Nikos Maziotis, Sarantos Nikitopoulos and Evangelos Stathopoulos, also suspected members of the group, on several occasions.

Eight alleged members of the group, including Katsenos, face trial on October 5.

Revolutionary Struggle has claimed a string of bomb attacks in Athens over the years but is best known for firing a rocket-propelled grenade at the US Embassy in 2007.
