Many of the donors who contributed to a pot of 116 million euros intended for the rejuvenation of forestland razed in the catastrophic wildfires of 2007 have asked for a refund as it appears the funding remained in state coffers, Skai reported on Tuesday.

An Athens prosecutor on Tuesday brought charges of embezzlement against all responsible parties, while local officials in Ilia, one of the areas worst hit by the fires, said the government was ?immoral and criminal? for holding onto the funding.
