Over 3,000 arrests in Attica in October
More than 3,000 people were arrested in Attica during October, according to figures provided by the police on Friday. Of the 3,135 arrests, 483 were for burglaries and 119 for other kinds of robberies.
Officers have been brought in from other areas to increase police presence in central Athens over the past few weeks.
During October, almost 500 people were arrested in the area known as the historic center. Among other things, police seized 67,077 knockoff items. More than 60 stolen cars and motorcycles were found and returned to their owners.
