Man caught for murder of student after car chase

Police have arrested the suspected murderer of a 21-year-old student in Kastoria, northern Greece, following a car chase that ended with the alleged killer crashing into an electricity pole.

The woman was found dead by Kastoria Lake on Friday. She had been stabbed.

Police said they arrested her suspected killer after attempting to stop a car in Kilkis.

The driver refused to pull over and was chased by a patrol car for about a kilometer before he crashed.

Police said that they found blood and human hair in the car, which would be submitted to forensic tests.

The suspect, a 35-year-old from Thessaloniki, was placed under guard in the hospital, where he is being treated for his injuries from the accident.
