Fresh child molesting case hits Crete [Update]
The owner of a fitness club on the Cretan port of Rethymno died of self-inflicted wounds on Thursday. The 47-year-old man had been arrested by local police a day earlier on charges of sexually molesting young girls.
During his arrest the suspect injured himself with a knife and was subsequently transferred to a local hospital.
The case became the second child molesting case to hit the island this month, following the arrest of a 47-year-old school teacher accused of sexually molesting dozens of young boys.
