Escaped con nabbed
A 45-year-old Greek man who had escaped from Kassandra Prison in northern Greece in October was apprehended on Friday in the Athenian neighborhood of Peristeri by Attica police.
The man had been serving a sentence of over 39 years for a string of violent offenses including murder and rape.
Arresting officers who searched his car found him to be in possession of two handguns and ammunition, a large knife, drugs, two motorcycle helmets and a full-face black mask.
