Ancient cemetery unearthed in Thessaloniki
Part of an ancient cemetery dating to the Hellenistic and Roman eras has been uncovered in Thessaloniki during excavations for the construction of a new metro station for the northern port city, reports said Thursday.
Archaeologists discovered a total of 72 tombs most of them box-shaped and one cyclical — on the 500-square-meter site of the Dimokratia station.
