Body of employee implicated in wiretap scandal to be exhumes
The body of Costas Tsalikidis, the Vodafone software engineer who allegedly hung himself in March 2005 due to concerns about being implicated in a wiretapping scandal, is due to be exhumed on Thursday.
First instance prosecutor Haralambos Lakafosis asked for the deceased?s exhumation several months after experts suggested Tsalikidis may have been murdered.
A court ruled in 2006 that the 39-year-old committed suicide because he allegedly helped hack the phone of then-Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis and more than 100 others. But the Tsalikidis family and their legal team have challenged this version of events.
Last year, two coroners raised doubts in their reports about the initial autopsy.
