Ephraim allowed out of Mount Athos for treatment
The key suspect in the controversial land swap involving the Vatopedi Monastery, Abbot Ephraim, was granted permission on Tuesday by a council of appeals court judges to travel to Athens for medical treatment.
Ephraim was released on bail from Korydallos Prison earlier this year. He was barred from leaving Mount Athos.
