Firefighters struggle to contain wildfire on Chios
More than 15 firefighters and soldiers on Chios were battling a large wildfire that broke out on the eastern Aegean island early Saturday.
The blaze started in the Aghios Markos area but spread quickly due to strong winds. Firefighters from Athens, Thessaloniki and Lesvos were called in to help with the effort.
At least 300 hectares of pine forest had been burned.
