Man confesses to murder of woman in Porto Germeno
A 26-year-old man has allegedly confessed to killing a 39-year-old woman in Porto Germeno, a small coastal town in western Attica.
Investigators responding to a missing person’s report filed by the victim’s family on May 15 questioned the 26-year-old, who is said to have been romantically involved with the woman, after finding her ID card, cell phone and jewelry in his car.
The suspect confessed that he had strangled the woman during an argument and had disposed of her body by wrapping it in a blanket and hiding it in a clump of bushes about 1.5 kilometers from his summer residence, officers said.
Investigators found her body in the location the suspect had indicated on Friday.
