Greek Culture Ministry submits amendment to close 2 GNTO offices
The Culture Ministry submitted an amendment to Parliament on Friday for the closure of two of the 19 overseas offices currently being operated by the Greek National Tourism Organization.
The move, which will be debated in the House next week, is expected to cost 818,000 euros in compensation etc, but also to bring savings of 1.5 million euros on an annual basis.
The same amendment also contains clauses regarding the construction of tourist accommodation in coastal areas, reducing the distance buildings must have from the shoreline, and licensing for the construction of bungalows and furnished villas, which is to become less time-consuming.
