Police arrest man with hand grenade
A 41-year-old man has been arrested for the possession of a hand grenade, police said Tuesday.
The suspect was allegedly stopped for an inspection by members of the DIAS motorcycle-riding squad in the district of Rendi, southwestern Athens, early on Monday. Police said he resisted arrest and fought with officers.
Authorities have confiscated a hand grenade and a mobile phone. Another mobile phone found at the site is believed to belong to the suspect.
Police are conducting further investigation while the suspect will face a prosecutor.
