Deadline extended for income and property taxes
The Finance Ministry on Friday announced that it is extending the deadline to next Friday, September 6, for the payment of taxes on income and property.
The tax on property and incomes was supposed to be paid in full or in installments by Friday, August 30, the latter levied via electricity bills and the former via the tax return form.
Meanwhile, taxpayers who pay the full amount of their income tax in one installment will still be eligible for a 1.5 percent discount if they do so by the new deadline.
The extension was granted following complaints that taxpayers were not given enough time from the receipt of their returns to gather the necessary funds.
