Greek hospital doctors to stage work stoppage on Wednesday
State hospitals will be disrupted on Wednesday as doctors are expected to join a four-hour work stoppage called by the municipal workers’ union POE-OTA.
A protest rally is scheduled to begin outside the Heath Ministry offices in central Athens at 11.30 a.m.
Doctors, who are protesting the forced transfers and cutbacks foreseen as part of a civil service overhaul, are also expected to join a 48-hour strike called by the civil servants’ union, ADEDY, for September 18 and 19.
