Health minister claims comment regarding public sector sackings was misinterpreted
Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis claimed Friday that his comment was misinterpreted when he claimed that he did not want to share the “glory” of making public sector sackings with the troika.
“I meant glory in the sense of responsibility rather than fame,” Georgiadis told Mega TV.
The minister insisted that he would not be firing any people working in the National Health System but might dismiss doctors from the primary healthcare sector. “We are not talking about people who would be left without jobs as they all have private practices,” said Georgiadis.
