Body discovered off Turkish coast identified as missing Rhodes teacher

A body discovered in the sea area off the Turkish coastal town of Datca has been identified as that of a 53-year-old Greek teacher from Rhodes who had been missing since Friday following heavy rainfall and flash floods last week.

Another three people died as a result of the bad weather, while extensive damage to infrastructure and private property were recorded on the islands of Rhodes and Pserimos.

The body was identified by members of the victim’s family on Wednesday after being discovered by a Turkish fisherman late on Monday.
