Another former Siemens official to face prosecutor
Heinrich von Pierer, a former president and managing director of Siemens, is to appear next week before a Greek appeals court prosecutor to testify in connection with a cash-for-contracts scandal in which the German electronics and engineering giant is embroiled.
Von Pierer, who was fined by a court in Germany recently in connection with the same case after being found guilty of inadequately conducting his duties, is the latest German ex-executive to face a Greek prosecutor.
Of the four German officials who have testified in recent months, one is alleged to have handled the transfer of 200,000 German marks (about 100,000 euros) to the Greek branch of Siemens in 1998.
