Food watchdog fined 23 companies in November after finding horse meat

Greece’s food watchdog, EFET, said on Thursday that it had imposed fines totaling 228,000 euros on 23 companies last month after inspections revealed horse DNA in the meat they were selling.

EFET fined a total of 60 companies in November over a range of offenses.

The penalties reached 446,000 euros in total.
