Fire destroys Kri-Kri dairy factory in northern Greece

Firefighters on Wednesday were investigating the cause of a large blaze that almost entirely razed a factory owned by dairy producer Kri-Kri in Serres, northern Greece, on Tuesday night.

All of the employees working at the time were evacuated safely from the premises when the fire broke out on Tuesday evening, destroying the dairy processing and storage units of the factory, which is a major employer in Serres.

It took 13 firetrucks, 35 firefighters and dozens of municipal workers several hours to bring the blaze under control before it spread to other parts of the unit used to store flammable materials.
