Drug smuggler collared with 1 kilo of heroin at Athens Airport
A 40-year-old Nigerian national traveling from Nairobi via Doha has been arrested at Athens International Airport by narcotics officers who discovered he had swallowed 78 plastic bags containing 1 kilo of heroin.
Police said the man, who has not been named, is believed to be a member of a racket smuggling drugs from African countries into Europe.
The suspect will face an Athens prosecutor on drug smuggling charges.
