Committee to be tasked with monitoring hospital finances
Health Minister Andreas Xanthos signed a decision on Wednesday that will pave the way for the creation of a committee to monitor spending by public hospitals.
Each month, the panel will ensure that hospitals are spending within their budgets and that the so-called clawback rule, which ensures the automatic repayment of money from suppliers if it is above a set threshold, is applied properly.
The committee will deliver a report to the minister at the end of each month.
