Administrative uni staff to strike Monday

Administrative employees at Greek universities have announced a 24-hour strike on Monday, in protest at a trial against 14 of their colleagues for taking part in a three-month strike in 2013 against layoffs that were part of a mobility scheme in the public sector. University staffers were scheduled to host a rally outside the Evelpidon court complex in Athens at 9 a.m.

Meanwhile, education unions are set to take part in a rally at 6 p.m. Tuesday, starting from the Athens University entrance on Panepistimiou Street. The unions are protesting staff dismissals and a shortage of teachers at schools, among other issues.
