THURSDAY Prime Minister Costas Simitis meets with President Bush at the White House. Talks will focus on the nascent European rapid reaction force, the Cyprus problem, the war on terrorism, the 2004 Olympics and other issues. -National Statistics Service to announce December’s CPI. FRIDAY Ecumenical Patriarch Vartholomaios pays a four-day visit to Iran following an invitation from the government. Vartholomaios will meet with the leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, President Mohammad Khatami and other top government officials. To January 14. SATURDAY Archbishop of America Demetrios arrives in Athens on a seven-day official visit at the invitation of the Greek government.
