Empty streets in Athens but not for long
Central Vassilissis Sofias Avenue lies uncharacteristically empty yesterday, as Easter vacationers began returning to the capital. One of the worst spots on the national road network was the tollgate at Corinth, where traffic jams stretched for 17 kilometers in the late afternoon. According to traffic police, the Easter exodus was one of the biggest in recent years, with some 1.1 million cars leaving the capital over the weekend.
