Need to adapt
Greece’s civil protection authorities have been equipped with new tools. This became evident again Thursday as early warning systems, such as the 112 emergency communications service, were employed to a smaller or greater degree, depending on requirements.
However, the challenges being created by climate change demand more than this level of preparation. The state apparatus and the country’s citizens will have to adapt to unprecedented conditions.
