A rare moment

The subject of the bill was perfect for achieving consent. Who can, in good faith, argue against the adoption of new technologies? 

However, even in a field so unsuitable for political confrontation, short-sighted populism could have again manifested itself and done its damage. 

The fact that the bill was approved by the three biggest parties – with the majority accepting proposals by the opposition – was a rare moment for our parliamentary ethos. And it shouldn’t be the last.
