Firefighting and prevention
Greece has already significantly strengthened its firefighting fleet. Its further strengthening is of course necessary, however, prevention remains a priority.
Experts agree that “summer fires are extinguished in winter.” The competent agencies must find a way to protect forests in a timely and methodical manner, otherwise the fire service is doomed to fall short due to the dangers that the climate crisis is constantly creating.
