Where do taxes go?
One of the pretexts for tax evasion is the – justified – mistrust in the administrative capacity of the state. That is why it is appropriate that every tax measure be taken with a guarantee of reciprocity.
One such nod to society would be to funnel the proceeds from the new tax intervention to efficient civil servants, to the doctors and nurses who keep the national healthcare system going, and to the soldiers who guard Greece’s borders, risking their lives.
