Are precautions in place for a tsunami in Greece?

Whereas it appears that pinpointing the precise time of an earthquake is impossible, tsunamis can be predicted. Generally, they can happen right after major earthquakes. So the question, one year after the South-East Asia tsunami, is: Is there a tsunami-warning system in place in Greece? If not, is one at least being created or planned? Just imagine a tsunami hitting the Greek beaches on the 15th of August, at 3 o’clock in the afternoon. ULRICH MITTELBACH, Athens.
