Bicycle rally and conflict seminars

Bicycle rally all around Greece

The Podilates movement to promote bicycle-friendly cities is organizing a host of cycling rallies across the country on Sunday, May 8, and invites all cyclists to join in and show their numbers.

With meetings taking place all over Athens and in other parts of the country during the morning, the cyclists will make their way through the streets before meeting at a central point. In Athens this will be the Pedion tou Areos park off Patission Avenue, and the gathering is scheduled to begin at noon at the statue of Theodoros Kolokotronis.

Other cities that will be hosting rallies are Aigio, Argos, Volos, Drama, Iraklio, Thessaloniki, Kalamata, Patra, Corinth, Nafplio and Nea Makri, to name a few.

Conflict management seminars

Theatrical games and the techniques used to help externalize emotions in acting classes will be put to use by the Theater of Changes in central Athens in a series of seminars on conflict management that is scheduled to take place on May 14.

Aimed mainly at schoolteachers, the seminar provides tools for adults to help children and teenagers deal with social exclusion and bullying, while also learning how to deal with conflict between students within the classroom and to set up an environment in which these conflicts can be discussed and resolved.

Applications for the seminars, which last 16 hours in total over four Saturdays, need to be submitted by May 14. The total cost is 160 euros. For more information, call 210.522.2181.
