Aris and Panellinos lose at home

Aris and Panellinios saw their chances of advancing to the Eurocup knockout stage diminish after suffering home defeats on February 1.

Aris managed to hold the lead for most of its match against Goettingen in Thessaloniki, with an advantage of 18 points just eight minutes from the end (70-52).

However, a 19-0 partial score by the German side turned things around and allowed the visitors to snatch an 84-82 victory.

Panellinios played second fiddle to visiting Benetton Treviso at Lamia and predictably lost 83-75 despite Torin Francis’s 26 points and Steven Smith’s 19.

The Italians will be the hosts of the Eurocup Finals.

Aris now has one conquest in three matches, while Panellinios remained without a win in this second group stage of Europe’s second-tier club competition.
