Bad news for Ergotelis and PAS Giannina

Ergotelis has become the third team to get relegated from this season’s Super League after its home loss to Kerkyra on Monday, while PAS Giannina found out on Tuesday it is not eligible for entering the play-offs for a spot in next season’s European competitions due to financial irregularities.

Kerkyra defeated Ergotelis 2-1 at Iraklio to stay up and send the Cretan club down the road that fellow Iraklio team OFI and Niki Volou have already gone.

PAS Giannina has failed to get a license to play in Europe next season as the appeal it had made against the original decision to exempt it from the play-off process was rejected.

Consequently if PAS ends up fifth in the regular season, it will have to relinquish its spot in the play-offs to the team to finish sixth, which now is Atromitos with twogames left to play. This is the ssecond time in three years PAS has suffered the same fate.
