New record for perfect Olympiakos

New record for perfect Olympiakos

All top three teams in the Super League scored home wins over the weekend, with leader Olympiakos extending its perfect record to 17 wins in as many games, beating its own record of 16 consecutive victories from 10 years earlier.

Goals from Brown Ideye, Felipe Pardo and Chori Dominguez gave Olympiakos an easy 3-1 win over Levadiakos on Sunday, and even the scorer of the Livadia team, El Fardou Ben Nabouhane, belongs to the Reds and plays for Levadiakos on loan.

Second-placed AEK, 18 points off the pace, had a hard time beting Xanthi 2-1on Saturday, having Christos Aravidis and Helder Barbosa to thank for their goals and keeper Yiannis Anestis for averting an equalizer by saving a Xanthi penalty. Karim Soltani was Xanthi’s scorer.

PAOK scored a nerve-calming win on Sunday beating PAS Giannina 3-1 at Toumba, goals coming from Stefanos Athanasiadis, Haris Harisis and Jairo de Macedo da Silva for PAOK, and Chrysovalantis Kozoronis for PAS.

A gripping game between Panetolikos and Asteras Tripolis had the host emerge victorious with a 2-1 score, while Panionios returned to the top five with a 1-0 win over visiting Iraklis.

The games of Atromitos with Platanias and of Veria with Panthrakikos finished goalless.

Panathinaikos, that has reportedly sold its top scorer Nikos Karelis to Belgian side Genk for 3 million euros, is traveling to Lesvos to face Kalloni on Monday.
