PAOK to meet Olympiakos in Greek Cup semis

The draw for the semifinals of the Greek Cup has placed holder Olympiakos against PAOK with the first match in Thessaloniki, while AEK will face Atromitos with the first leg at the Olympic Stadium of Athens.

Friday’s draw is certain to generate plenty of talk due to the pairings having a history of violence, as the last time PAOK hosted Olympiakos for the Cup two years ago the Reds complained of unprecedented conditions including the hosts planting fish at the visitors’ bench.

Atromitos and AEK are still waiting for the decision of the disciplinary authorities after fans of the two clubs clashed at the league game in Peristeri, and it is almost certain that there will be a ban in away fans.

The Hellenic Football Federation (EPO) announced that the first-leg matches will take place on March 2-3, while the return games are scheduled for April 6-7, unless Olympiakos proceeds further in the Europa League.
