Number of flu-related deaths in Greece this year rises to 83
The number of people who have died of flu-related causes since the beginning of the year has risen to 83, data published by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (KEELPNO) showed on Monday.
KEELPNO said a total of 242 people had been hospitalized after contracting the virus and 55 are under observation at intensive-care units.
The center noted that most victims had not had a flu jab and suffered from other chronic ailments that exacerbated their condition.
According to KEELPNO, only 30 percent of the high-risk population has received a flu jab this winter.
