Toskas accused of turning blind eye to University sitin

Despite reassurances given to conservative MPs on Wednesday by Alternate Minister for Citizens’ Protection Nikos Toskas that a sitins at Thessaloniki’s Aristotle University by migrants and activists is “under control,” New Democracy slammed the government yesterday for looking the other way as lawlessness spreads across the campus and beyond.

“[Toskas] considers the spread of lawlessness as a ‘situation completely under control,’” ND said on Wednesday.

In a statement, the Citizens' Protection Ministry accused ND of using the issue for its own political gain.

On Tuesday, Thessaloniki Mayor Yiannis Boutaris accused activists of the No Border Camp pro-refugee movement,  that organized the sitins of deliberately causing problems.
