A Thessaloniki court on Tuesday convicted three supporters of PAOK soccer team to 13.5 years in prison and another to 14 years for a brutal attack last March outside a supporters club in Serres, northern Greece, which left a 34-year-old police officer in a wheelchair and seriously injured a 35-year-old.

All four were released pending their appeals.

The incident occurred when the police officer, who was off-duty, and his friend were on their way home after a night out and shouted offensive slogans outside the PAOK supporters club.

The four convicted men – two 22-year-olds, a 23-year-old and a 26-year-old – rushed out of the club and attacked the two men.

Pending their appeals, all four are forbidden from leaving the country and will have to appear at a police station every time PAOK plays a soccer, basketball or volleyball match.
