Early closing for some archaeological sites on election day

The Culture Ministry has declared that some historical sites, monuments and museums in Athens and elsewhere will close early on Sunday, May 21 owing to the general election.

On election day, most locations will be open as usual; however, in the capital, the Acropolis, Ancient Agora, Roman Agora and Hadrian’s Library will all close three hours earlier than usual at 5 p.m.

In addition, other iconic sites around the capital will also have shorter hours.

These are Aristotle’s Lyceum, the Kerameikos and the Temple of Olympian Zeus, which will close at 3 p.m.

Furthermore, six locations outside of Athens will close early.
