Greek-Japan Year of Culture and Tourism

Greek-Japan Year of Culture and Tourism

The start of the 2024 Greek-Japan Year of Culture and Tourism was officially launched on Thursday at a Japanese Embassy event in Athens on the occasion of the celebration of His Majesty the Emperor of Japan Naruhito’s birthday, to which Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni was invited.

Kefalogianni said that despite the fact that Greece and Japan are far away from each other geographically, both nations and peoples have much in common and mostly a deep respect to tradition and hospitality.

Japan looks forward to the increase of tourism flows to Greece and has committed to the implementation of a series of actions in the context of the Culture and Tourism Year, with the most important being its participation in Posidonia 2024 this June. Kefalogianni wished success to the Greek-Japan Year of Culture and Tourism, which aims to promote the cultures and strengthen the tourism flows between the two countries.
