Defense minister says Greek Revolution a ‘source of confidence’
The historic memory of the Greek Revolution against Ottoman rule which started in 1821 is a “source of confidence and pride” for Greeks and the Armed Forces, Defense Minister Nikos Panagiotopoulos said on Thursday, marking the national holiday.
The minister said in a message that the fight for independence remains “timeless and inspiring” for the nation and “a legacy of our ancestors,” while issuing a call for unity.
