Lightening-caused wildfire breaks out in northeastern Attica

A fire broke out in a forested area of the municipality of Dionysos in northeastern Attica on Monday as lightening struck during a storm in the wider area, the Fire Department said.

The blaze started near the German cemetery. 

A total of 21 firemen with six vehicles and two helicopters have been deployed, assisted by volunteer fire fighters.
