Toddler dies in fall from balcony

An 18-month-old baby has died after falling from the fourth-floor balcony of an apartment building in the southern Athens suburb of Glyfada.
Emergency services were called shortly after 5 p.m. on Tuesday. The baby was taken to the Agia Sophia Children’s Hospital in Athens, but its death was confirmed a short time later.
The baby’s father was taken into custody for questioning and released on the prosecutor’s order.
The incident is under investigation.
