Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Ministry holds meeting ahead of winter

Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Minister Christos Stylianides convened a large meeting at the ministry on Wednesday to better prepare and coordinate for winter, including for the mitigation of extreme weather on Greece’s road network.

The minister emphasized to all those participating in the meeting that they must be prepared and vigilant and pointed out the importance of good coordination of all those involved to quickly confront emergency situations.

Participants in the meeting included the head of the Hellenic Fire Service, Lieutenant General Alexios Rapanos, as well as other high-ranking Fire Service officials; Police Major General Eleftherios Garilas, several high-ranking ministry officials, representatives of the Transport and Infrastructure Ministry, as well as representatives of the companies managing Greece’s road networks, including Attikes Diadromes, a subsidiary of Attiki Odos, Egnatia Odos, Olympia Odos and others.
