Woman injured in Istanbul blast to undergo leg surgery 

A 39-year-old woman who was injured at the deadly explosion in Istanbul last Sunday, will undergo surgery to remove a fragment of glass from her leg and repair a tibial fracture, the hospital in northern Greece where she is being treated announced on Wednesday.

The patient arrived at the hospital’s emergency room in an ambulance from Turkey on Tuesday night and was admitted to the Orthopedic Clinic where all required tests were conducted to assess her health, Papageorgiou Hospital said.
 
The medical examination confirmed the existence of a fragment in the lower limb and a bone fracture. The patient will remain hospitalized for as long as necessary, the hospital added. 

At least six people dead and 81 others wounded when a bomb went off on the busy Istiklal Avenue in Turkey’s largest city.
