SYRIZA presents election schedule for Sunday

The elections to select the new leader of main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance will be held this Sunday with voting taking place between 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., the party announced in a press release Wednesday.

Anyone above the age of 15 who joins as a member of SYRIZA by September 16 or registers as a party member on the spot on the day of the elections is eligible to vote. Members are free to cast their vote at any of the 570 polling stations set up throughout the country, even those outside their electoral precinct, if they have a valid ID document (police ID, passport, driving licence, health passbook, residence permit, visa or blue certificate). Migrants and those under 17 must present a legal identification document and their AMKA social security number.

Those living abroad can vote in the elections online at the same time as the elections in Greece, provided they are registered party members or register on the isyriza platform by 2 p.m. (Greek time) on September 14.

The cost of participating in the election is two euros.
