Cyprus drilling to continue

Cyprus?s deputy government spokesman said on Tuesday Nicosia will press ahead with its plans to prospect for oil and gas despite vehement protests by Turkey, adding that results from the first exploratory drilling would be available in two months? time.

Cyprus will keep looking for deposits with ?seriousness, determination, confidentiality and composure,? despite Turkish warnings, said Christos Christofides.

He added that a second round of exploratory drilling lasting several more months will give a clearer picture of the size and quality of the mineral deposits.
