Horse DNA found in 7 food products in Greece, checks ongoing

A total of seven products have been found so far in Greece to contain horse meat, the head of the Hellenic Food Authority (EFET) said on Wednesday.

Yiannis Tsialtas said that 167 samples have been taken so far by the watchdog.

Of these, 68 have been tested, resulting in seven positive results for horse meat.

These samples are being tested for antibiotics and other drugs, said Tsialtas, who added that checks are continuing.
