Tsochatzopoulos insists more witnesses should be called

The court hearing the money-laundering trial of former Defense Minister Akis Tsochatzopoulos on Tuesday rejected a series of objections filed by the ex-PASOK veteran’s legal team.

However, Tsochatzopoulos restated his demand that the other members of the Government Council for Foreign Affairs and Defense (KYSEA) while he was minister should appear as witnesses in court.

Tsochatzopoulos also called for two defense ministers in the New Democracy governments that took over from PASOK from 2004 onward, Evangelos Meimarakis and Spilios Spiliotopoulos, to be questioned.

Tsochatzopoulos insists he did not have sole responsibility for agreeing on the procurement deals in connection to which he is being tried.
