SYRIZA lawmakers take action over crush at ERT building
SYRIZA MPs Zoe Constantopoulou, Dimitris Stratoulis, Panayiotis Kouroublis and Vassilis Hatzilambrou and Independent Greeks lawmaker Rachil Makri submitted a suit to the Supreme Court prosecutor’s office in Athens on Wednesday in connection to events outside the headquarters of former state broadcaster ERT in the northern suburb of Aghia Paraskevi on Saturday.
The lawmakers claimed that they were crushed against the building’s main gate by police and that Constantopoulou’s health had been put in danger.
The SYRIZA lawmaker said she only avoided being injured because Makri and a policeman standing next to her helped her climb onto the gate.
The deputies accused the police of acting “outside of the constitutional framework.”
